UK Kindle 3G/Wifi and Kindle 3 UK Wifi

The Kindle 3 UK has arrived. Brits can now order the Kindle 3G with wifi or the even cheaper Kindle 3 wifi models directly from the UK. Books than then also be ordered in sterling from the Kindle UK site.

Now the latest generation of smaller, faster, better Kindle 6" wireless reading device has been announced pre-orders are taking off fast. The Kindle 3 release date was 27th August 2010 but you can still make sure you are one of the first to get your hands on the pretty little eBook Reader.

Even better news (well for Brits anyway) is that changes have been made and you can now buy the Kindle in the UK! We have had to wait a while but at last the Kindle is for sale in dear old Blighty - about time too. Who wants to wait for a delivery from the US, worrying about customs charges when you can now buy the Kindle in London (well online with delivery from somewhere in the UK at least :)! Ooh, and I nearly forgot it comes in a really beautiful graphite colour too!

There are countless improvements with the 3rd generation Kindle. The Kindle 3 is faster, brighter, smaller and better able to deal with both web-browsing and PDF files. And, its far far prettier too!

The Kindle Reader for UK Book & Gadget Fans

The Kindle Portable Reader has been flying off the shelves of online giant amazon like a cheap paperback for the last two years. This year sales have gone haywire since the new and improved Kindle 2 (the Next Generation of Portable Ebook Reader no less) was released.

Sadly this rather attractive and ridiculously useful gadget was only available to citizens of the Good Ol' US of A. Hardly fare! And, a fact that led newspapers, blogs, and gadget fans salivating over a future world where The Kindle would at last be available to all. Stories of imminent release dates, deals with mobile networks, cancellations and postponements have filled the cybersphere and real hard copy news alike.

So, it was with some trepidation that consumers began to accept that yes, at last The Kindle would really be available to Brits and many more folks besides. It seemed something must surely halt the arrival of the must have gadget of 2009 to the sures of 'Blighty'...

But no, the day has dawned (well the day was yesterday actually). On October 19th 2009 The Kindle UK invasion began. For those lucky customers worldwide that chose to Preorder the Kindle International, at last the day of dispatch had arrived. Now being a touch on the suspicious front I didn't want to publish this Hub until all had gone well. But, since we're one day on and no servers have crashed or delivery companies gone broke I think it is safe to say that now, and hopefully for ever more, The Kindle UKhas arrived.

In one day The Kindle Reader International Edition (the one that will allow wireless downloads and backup even in the UK) has risen to #1 in the Electronics Best Seller list which is pretty impressive. Equally amazing is that it just so happens to still be in stock. Just went you thought such fanfare and excitement would surely precede a Zhu Zhu style riot and lack of stock, the sellers and manufacturers only go and prove us cynical consumers wrong by controlling the supply with aplomb.

Kindle Price Drop - Best Deal on Kindle International Wireless Reading Device

Wow, what fantastic news. Amazon have just dropped the price for the Kindle International wireless reading device down to a more than fabulous $189 or only $139 for the wi-fi only version, that's only just over one hundred quid!

The cheapest Kindle price available online today.

Let's just hope we see the Kindle DX price reduced in the same manner soon. The new low priced Kindle is available for both US and international delivery now. It seems consumers are winning with so much competition hotting up between ebook reader manufacturers and sellers.

We're almost glad the iPad is so popular!

What's So Great About a Kindle Reader?

Okay, let's be honest nobody needs The Kindle, in the UK or anywhere else for that matter. But what makes it so great is that it is a Portable Electronic Book Reader. Equally we all manage perfectly well without one of these reading devices. But, life is rather delightful with one. Well, for those who love to read but do not enjoy carrying multiple publications, books and newspapers wherever they go.

The whole idea of an electronic reader is that you can store multiple books, magazines and newspapers all on one gadget. The whole idea of The Kindle Wireless Reading Device is that you can do that (the memory will hold a staggering 1500 books) easily AND you can add more titles whenever you like, virtually wherever you like.

The Kindle UK comes with wireless connectivity so whenever you wish to order a new title you can do so directly from the reader rather than needing to traipse home to use your PC. Within 60 seconds of placing an order (from one of over 280,000 books) UK customers will find their Ebook reader has downloaded their new purchase.

The one thing that has previously put folks off buying into the whole Ebook reader gadget idea is the desire not to turn reading for pleasure into something akin to sitting in the office. This is The Kindles 'piece de resistance' as it has a unique paperlike screen designed to make reading this feel exactly like reading a real live book. There is no back lighting to the screen so it feels nothing like a computer screen or PDA.

But with a little computer wizardry the reading experience is not just matched, but actually improved. No more lost pages or false starts as the device remembers where you got up to. Plus, you can add notes using the QWERTY keyboard and even back these up to the online storage library of all your purchases.

So okay, you don't need a Kindle but do you want one, or do you know someone who does? I know I do so look out amazon, you're gonna get busy, as UK Kindles are GO!

Kindle Portable Reader

We are pretty excited that the remarkable Kindle 2 Portable Reader is soon to be released to international customers. The Kindle Wireless Reading Device has proved itself the best selling electronics device with amazon so it is about time UK consumers were able to enjoy its popularity.

The new generation of Kindle available to international customers has a huge range of benefits but most important perhaps is what makes it so useful. This is truly portable ebook reader. Designed to be small, lightweight yet easy to use. Check out the full specification below to see just how portable this electronic book reader is.

A Truly Portable Electronic Book Reader

  • At just over 1/3 inch wide this is an extremely slim gadget - as thin as your average magazine in fact.
  • At 10.2 oz, the Kindle weighs less than your average paperback novel.
  • Free 3G connectivity. Wherever you are (in over 100 countries) you can connect to amazon to download more content. There is no monthly charge, your connection is included with the purchase price. No hunting for wi-fi hotspots, simply download anywhere with a 3G mobile signal.
  • A long battery life means you can read for weeks wherever you are without recharging the Kindle Reader.
  • A large memory means you can take up to 1500 books with you wherever you go.

There is no denying this is one seriously portable ebook reader. But, while it is a serious gadget one of the key benefits of the Kindle Reading Device is that its display looks like paper. Even in bright sunlight the screen reads like paper with no glare. Of course you have the additional electronic benefits of adjusting font sizes, one thing which would often be useful in the average paperback.

The Kindle Portable Ebook Reader makes reading on the move a more pleasant, more simple experience. No more packing multiple novels. One slimline product will store all the reading material you need, and if you do run out, simply download some more. At only 8" x 5.3" x 0.36" (203.2mm x 134.6mm x 9.1mm) it really will not take up too much space in your bag, and certainly won't eat into your baggage allowance. Of course it does not just replace one book either, now you can take as many with your on your travels as you like. All can be in your 'carry on' luggage, no more difficult decisions about what to leave in the hold or what to leave behind, take whatever you fancy to read for your entire trip.

I got one fairly recently. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy and fast it was to get it shipped to the UK.

Right now, I do get the feeling that Amazon are "letting" us have the Kindle rather than truly chasing the export market. Mind you - who cares? The Kindle is cool and saves me having to lug heavy books around with me when I'm travelling.
